Space Explorers: Blue Marble – Orbit 1

On the occasion of the 75th edition of the IAC (International Astronautical Congress), MEET, in collaboration with the Quebec Delegation in Rome, invites you to experience VR Space Explorers: Blue Marble – Orbit 1.

This immersive installation, created by EMMY®-winning Felix & Paul Studios, will take you on a journey into space to admire the beauty of the Earth as never before. Blue Marble – Orbit 1 is the first chapter of a trilogy of cinematic VR films, selected as one of the 10 best projects in the Venice Immersive section of the Venice International Film Festival.

Filmed on the exterior of the International Space Station (ISS) in collaboration with NASA, the Canadian Space Agency and the ISS US National Lab, Blue Marble – Orbit 1 offers an exclusive and unforgettable perspective. Flying over the Earth in virtual reality, you will experience the ‘Overview Effect’, the powerful sensation experienced by astronauts observing our planet from low Earth orbit, an experience that profoundly changes the way we perceive the world and our place in the universe.

With an open and unobstructed 360° view, you will admire breathtaking panoramas of planet Earth and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of protecting it for future generations. Positioned at the nadir of the ISS, you will have the chance to see what very few have ever observed.

Experience the Panoramica effect in the heart of Milan with Space Explorers

The installation will be accessible in MEET’s Immersive Room from 16 October to 10 November, where you will be able to experience this incredible space journey first hand. In the Gallery on the first floor, you will also find interviews with the filmmakers and exclusive backstage material, to delve into the creative process that led to the realisation of this extraordinary VR experience.
