A journey through the Renaissance with Renaissance Dreams

From Feb. 25 to March 9, 2025, MEET’s Immersive Room reopens its doors to host Renaissance Dreams, the site-specific work by Refik Anadol that has enchanted international audiences. This is an unmissable opportunity to discover this extraordinary immersive installation, which can be enjoyed all the days the Center is open.

The artwork

Created specifically for MEET’s unique spaces, Renaissance Dreams uses artificial intelligence to reinterpret the art and culture of the Italian Renaissance. An immense amount of data – images and texts produced between 1300 and 1600 – has been transformed by advanced algorithms into a composition of shapes, colors and sounds never seen before.

Divided into four chapters-painting, sculpture, literature and architecture-the work gives viewers a hypnotic experience, like a daydream that evokes the beauty of our cultural heritage with a contemporary gaze. Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) technologies have enabled AI to reinterpret Renaissance masterpieces, creating ever-changing images and exciting, immersive and poetic sound design.

A masterpiece exclusively at MEET

Part of Chapter I – Painting was recently exhibited at Palazzo Citterio as part of the prestigious Grande Brera opening, underscoring the importance of Renaissance Dreams as a symbolic work of the intersection of art and technological innovation. However, the entire installation can only be seen at MEET, the place where it all began.

“With this cultural operation, MEET and the nascent National Museum of Digital Art confirm their mission to promote and amplify the communicative power of digital art,” says Maria Grazia Mattei, founder and president of MEET. “We are honored to share part of this extraordinary work with Brera, but it is here, in our Immersive Room, that Renaissance Dreams is expressed in all its complexity.”

Renaissance Dreams is an invitation to rediscover the beauty and evocative power of our past, revisited through the eyes of visionary technology. A unique experience in the dimension that blends art, science and technology.

Renaissance Dreams, Feb. 25 through March 9 at MEET.

Hours: Wednesday through Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m.
